Cause of Long Branch stable fire undetermined
BOYCE — The cause of a recent fire that killed a horse and destroyed the stable at Long Branch Historic House & Farm in Clarke County will remain unknown. Certified private fire investigators “completed a thorough and detailed examination of the site and surroundings,” then ruled the cause undetermined, Long Branch Executive Director Teresa Condon said Thursday evening.

MILLWOOD — A fire Tuesday night destroyed the stable at Long Branch Historic House & Farm in Clarke County and killed one horse. The cause of the blaze is not yet known, said Wayne Whetsell, chief of the county’s Department of Fire, EMS and Emergency Management. An investigation is ongoing.
Letter to the editor: No Juneteenth in newsletter
I received your most recent newsletter mentioning all the celebrations in June, Flag Day, Father's Day, Army's 294th Birthday. Nowhere was there a mention of Juneteenth, the newest Federal Holiday. I know of three celebrations of Juneteenth two weekends ago in Winchester and Clarke County. I attended two of them. There was also a Juneteenth celebration June 19 in Front Royal on Main Street near the gazebo. These locations are all in the 6th Congressional District you represent.
