‘One of a kind’ shooting park in Crossville drawing people to the area
Crossville Shooting Sports Park opened their doors in 2019. The facility holds five skeet/trap combo fields, one single trap field, a European-style bunker, two five-stand courses, two sporting clay courses, a five-bay pistol range, a 200-yd rifle range and a 12-lane 3-D archery course.
Overton Industrial Board Approves Tax Abatement
The Overton County Industrial Development Board approved a tax abatement Friday for the American Stave Company’s barrel manufacturing facility planned for Rickman. American Stave Attorney Madison Haynes said they are hoping to complete the facility by the end of the first quarter of 2025. Haynes said the company plans to hire eighty-five full-time employees from the local area by the end of 2026.

Church Music Program Developing Skills In Kids
Cookeville First United Methodist Church ready for the fall launch of its early music program designed to help develop fundamental skills in children. The program is a year-round program that the church has done for years. Coordinator of Worship at Cookeville First United Methodist Church Kathy Evans said the program uses more than just musical instruments as they use scarves and parachutes.
