Abington Heights displayed extreme offensive balance across its starting five while producing the first perfect regular season and the longest winning streak in the school’s successful boys basketball history.
With two playoff wins added in to improve the team to 24-0 overall, the Comets entered the state tournament with the starters all averaging between 13.3 and 9.2 points per game. They created a versatile combination responsible for the team shooting 51 percent from the floor and better than 39 percent from 3-point range while committing fewer than eight turnovers per game. That efficiency added up to 68.3 points per game by a team that has allowed just 42.5.
Mason Fedor leads the way with 13.3 points per game, followed by Will Marion with 13.1, Ryan Nealon 11.8, Robby Lucas 11.4 and Jordan Shaffer 9.2. All but Fedor, the team’s center, produce more than one 3-pointer per game while hitting at least 38.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Fedor also leads the team in rebounds with 7.5 per game and blocks with 1.8 while ranking second in steals at 2.0.
Marion leads in assists (3.7) and steals (2.4). Nealon is right behind him in assists with 3.6.
Shaffer has made 49 shots from beyond the arc while Nealon has 45. Lucas is the most accurate from long range at 42.9 percent.

Abington Heights already had its Lackawanna League title wrapped up before adding a 63-30 win at Wallenpaupack and a 63-37 rout of visiting West Scranton to complete the unbeaten regular season that included a 13-0 record in the league.
The Comets led 22-7 after one quarter at Wallenpaupack and placed four scorers in double figures. Lucas had 15 points and was joined in double figures by: Fedor (13), Shaffer (11) and Nealon (10).
Another fast start created leads of 18-4 after one quarter and 43-9 at halftime against West Scranton. Marion had 17 points, Fedor 14 and Nealon 11.
