Abington Heights recovered from a three-game losing streak, all at home, by going on the road to pick up two straight wins to end the April boys lacrosse schedule.

The Comets clinched a berth in the District 2 Class 2A playoffs when they defeated Lewisburg 9-5 April 27. They defeated Wyoming Seminary 13-6 April 29 to settle into third place, one in front of the Blue Knights, in the 11-team race for eight playoff berths. If they hold a top-four spot, they will host at least one district game.

Gavin Anders scored four goals in the win over Lewisburg, then added three goals and two assists against Wyoming Seminary to support a five-goal effort by Austin Boersma.

Freshman goalie Colton Naholnik was credited with 23 saves in the win over Wyoming Seminary.

Prior to winning two straight, the Comets battled unbeaten Scranton Prep but lost 9-8.

Will McPartland led the Cavaliers with three goals and two assists.

Anders and Gavin Lindsey scored three goals each for Abington Heights.

In addition to leading the team with 56 goals and 17 assists, Anders shares the lead in groundballs with Luke Kozar with 42 each.

Braghan Pallis has won 71.7 percent of his faceoffs.

The Comets are 8-3 in the WVC and 10-5 overall.

    SCRANTON PREP

The Cavaliers and Delaware Valley were the last two unbeatens in the WVC and the last two unbeaten teams overall going into their May 1 meeting at Delaware Valley.

Mackey Lynett has added 32 goals while Quinn Lynett has a team-high 21 assists for Scranton Prep (14-0).
