Heart Theatre To Host First Film In 17 Years
Amy Van Bergen, owner of the historic Heart Theatre, announces an exciting community event this summer to celebrate the theatre’s legacy. Thirsty Thursday: Wine at Art Mart
This week, I’m thirsty for wine at Art Mart. This glass of sauvignon blanc ($8) was the loveliest sip I’ve had all week. Served in an elegant thin-lipped, slender-stemmed glass, this chilled South African sauvignon blanc called MAN tasted delicious and had vibrant notes of tropical fruit balanced with a nice acidity. When I asked about the wine’s name, Art Mart’s wine guru Todd Fusco said it was an acronym of three owners’s partners’ first initials (Marie, Anette, and Nicky). I loved this sauvignon blanc and would recommend for anyone who enjoys a good crisp white.
Community volunteers make 4th of July celebrations special
MT. ZION, Ill. — Fourth of July fireworks bring rural residents together to celebrate. In Mt. Zion, Illinois, Blue Ribbon Night is held each year at Fletcher Park. The free event was held July 3 this year, which was alcohol-free and combined music, fireworks, food trucks and concessions for sale by local community organizations.
