Some high school seniors were crushed when their high school decided to cancel the varsity football season. No Football Season For These Illinois High School Seniors. Football is by far my favorite sport. I played for 8 years, 5th grade, and through high school. I had a blast. I wish I could've played in college but I didn't have the size or skills. It was just a regular season game, but it was a special one and really what High School Basketball is all about. In front of a packed house at Beecher City, the South Central Cougars and the CHBC Bobcats did battle on a Friday night in NTC Action (and it was our WKRV/I70sports Game of the Week). It was their second matchup of the season as the two teams had met in the Mulberry Grove Thanksgiving Tournament with South Central getting a 47 to 40 OT win in a really great game. But, it was not nearly the game the second one would turn out to be.
