Park District and DISC unveil new functional training room
July 17,2024 – The Decatur Park District and The Decatur Indoor Sports Center held a ribbon cutting Wednesday to celebrate the opening of its new HIIT Studio. H.I.I.T stands for High Intensity Interval Training and the DISC says the new facility has all of the tools needed to get your heart pumping. The functional training room includes a Movestrong Fitness Rig, 40+ feet of artificial turf, an Olympic deadlift area, power racks, Rogue & Get R’XD Crossfit equipment, Battle and climbing ropes, a designated area of weighted ball workouts, free weights and plyoboxes.

Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week: Unauthorized use of debit and LINK cards
Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Unauthorized use of debit and LINK cards is this week’s Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week. On May 4th, the victim reported his wallet was lost while fishing near Bridgeview Beach House at Lake Springfield. Four days later, a white male and female used the victim’s LINK card at Save A Lot on East Clear Lake. Use of a debit card was also attempted in Decatur.
2024 C-U Folk & Roots tickets and lineup announced
The Champaign-Urbana Folk and Roots Festival has unveiled its first round of lineup announcements and began selling tickets for the 2024 event, scheduled from October 3rd through October 5th. Bloomington tells homeless people sleeping along Constitution Trail to relocate
Around 100 people in Bloomington-Normal are unsheltered, according to estimates from a McLean County Housing Coalition. The City of Bloomington is dispersing roughly 40 of them who’ve been living in tents along Constitution Trail, said Director of Community Outreach Steve Tassio with Home Sweet Home Ministries' homeless shelter [HSHM].
