Stay healthy and informed as tickborne illnesses increase in Ohio, nationwide
At the recent inaugural Infectious Diseases in Appalachian Ohio Summit at Ohio University, health officials discussed the alarming increase in Lyme disease cases in Ohio. Similar increases have been observed nationally as well—according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the incidence of Lyme disease in the U.S. has approximately doubled since 1991.

Registration open for Alzheimer’s walks
The Alzheimer’s Association invites central Ohioans to register for the 2024 Walks to End Alzheimer’s, taking place across the region this fall. With more than 600 walks taking place across the U.S. each year, Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest fundraising event and supports the association’s free educational programs and support groups, Alzheimer’s care services, and advancements in treatment and research. People walk in memory of mothers, fathers, grandparents, and loved ones who are impacted by the disease.

Circleville Police Department Handles Diverse Calls Across Circleville
Circleville, OH – The Circleville Police Department was active on July 23rd, 2024, responding to a total of 36 incidents throughout various locations in Circleville. Starting early in the morning, officers responded to reports including juvenile complaints, suspicious vehicles, and business checks. A juvenile complaint on West Main St and a report of a suspicious vehicle on Nicholas Dr resulted in officers being unable to locate any subjects upon arrival. Business checks along US RTE 23 and US 23 S were conducted without incident, although a report of a suspicious vehicle on US 23 required further attention and led to a report being filed.
