CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A woman has been charged after deputies found more than 2 pounds of methamphetamine and fentanyl during a traffic stop in Clarksburg.

On July 2, deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department performed a traffic stop on a 1996 Chevy 1500 “for defective equipment (tail light out and lout exhaust)” while in the area of Chestnut Street in Clarksburg, according to a criminal complaint.

During the stop, deputies made contact with Taylor Jenkins, 30, of Clarksburg, and had a K-9 unit perform a free air sniff around the area of the vehicle; the dog alerted to the presence of narcotics, deputies said.

At that point, deputies searched the vehicle and found approximately 1.76 pounds of methamphetamine, almost half a pound of fentanyl, a set of digital scales and a “large amount” of U.S. currency, according to the complaint.

Jenkins was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. She is being held in North Central Regional Jail.
