CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Ahead of the scheduled Liberty High School closure in 2025, Harrison County Schools will be providing transportation from Liberty to Robert C. Byrd High School for those wishing to transfer this year.

The Liberty High School Facebook page announced on Monday that Harrison County Schools will provide a bus to take students from Liberty to RCB and back if they wish to begin attending their new school before the merge goes into effect next year .

When do West Virginia students go back to school?

The post states that students would ride their normal bus route to Liberty, then board another bus to RCB at around 7:40 a.m. Students would then return to Liberty around 2:25 p.m. A year-long physical education class will be offered between the afternoon drop off from RCB and pick up at Liberty, if needed.

To ensure enough students will use the bus, parents are asked to visit Liberty beginning Wednesday July 17 through Friday July 19 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., or on July 17 and 18 between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., to complete the transfer request paperwork.

Anyone who has further questions is encouraged to call Liberty High School at 304-326-7470.
