    Upshur County murderer sentenced for selling drugs in Clarksburg

    CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man who is currently serving time for an Upshur County murder in the 1980s will now serve additional time for selling drugs in Clarksburg.

    According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), William Kevin Glover, 62, of Clarksburg, was sentenced to 327 months—more than 27 years—for trafficking fentanyl and meth. He was convicted in March 2024 for seven counts of trafficking and one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises.

    Evidence introduced during Glover’s trial showed that he was working with others to sell fentanyl and meth using his Clarksburg residence as a hub. Investigators performed a search of Glover’s home on Sycamore Street in January 2022 and seized fentanyl, various pills, cocaine, meth, a firearm, drug paraphernalia and cash.

    Glover was previously convicted of first-degree murder in Upshur County in 1984 and was on parole when he committed the offenses. the DOJ release said. He has previous criminal convictions dating back to when he was 21 including ones for grand larceny, drug possession, wanton endangerment and criminal trespass.

    Glover will report for three years of supervised release following his sentence.

    Three others from Clarksburg pleaded guilty in 2023 to charges related to Glover’s operation and have also been sentenced. These include Stacy Russell, 50, who was sentenced to nine months; Robert Brockington, 41, who was sentenced to six months; and Jerri Lucente, 35, who was sentenced to 35 months.

    This case was investigated by the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Brandon Flower and Christie Utt prosecuted on behalf of the government.
