BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — A global IT system outage that happened overnight and grounded planes across the world is still affecting flights out of Clarksburg and other airports in the region.

The North Central West Virginia Airport (CKB) said in a Facebook post Friday afternoon that some of its partner airlines are working hard to resume normal operations, but “Delays/cancellations may continue.”

Allegiant Air, one of the two airlines that offer flights from CKB, said on social media that its computer system was impacted by the software outage. All flights that were set to depart before 2 p.m. on Friday were canceled, including the ones out of CKB. Customers were told not to come to the airport if their flight was canceled and to wait until they “receive an email from our Customer Care team with options to receive a refund or rebook on another flight when the systems are restored.”

The post also said that the airline “may be forced” to cancel even more flights later in the day. That update was posted around 11:30 a.m. , and as of 2 p.m., no new updates have been shared.

The Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) shared on its social media Friday morning that while it specifically was not experiencing issues, some of its airlines were, so passengers should check their flight status with their airline.

PIT has more than a dozen partner airlines . Of those, Allegiant, American Airlines , Delta , Frontier , Spirit , Sun Country and United have recognized that it has affected their service.

West Virginia Yeager International Airport in Charleston, West Virginia and Washington Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C. also said that some of their flights were impacted Friday.
