    CLARKSVILLE — The Mooresburg, Bean Station, Hancock County (MBSHC) Little League 10U softball team got off to a fast start in its state tournament opener before dropping a pair of games on Saturday to finish fifth overall.

    The MBSHC 10U All-Stars defeated Morristown 10-3 in Friday’s opener at St. Bethlehem Civitan Park in Clarksville. They dropped a 10-0 decision to St. Bethlehem before falling to Dickson in the elimination game.

    St. Bethlehem went on to beat Lafayette 8-3 on Tuesday to claim the little league 10U state title and advance to regional play next week.

    Members of the MBSHC 10U team are Rylee Adkins, Kallie Davis, Kenleigh Cagle, Jennifer Kledzik, Isabelle Long, Sadie Whitt, Allie Starnes and Ariyah Atkins of Bean Station Elementary; Millie Griffin and Paisley McMillan of Hawkins Elementary; Addyson Fodor and Tennyson Fleenor of Hancock County Elementary; and Avery Kenny of Mooresburg Elementary.

    The team is coached by Winston Whitt and assistants Corey Adkins, Brian McMillan, Katy Whitt, Ty Cagle and Jake Cagle.
