    Update/More details: 3 injured in July 30 Highway 30 crash

    The Oregon State Police (OSP) has released more information about the accident that closed Highway 30 on the afternoon of July 30. It was a two car head-on collision, with three victims all sustaining injuries.

    Two of the victims needed to be flown out via LifeFlight helicopters, with one being transported via ground to a trauma center. At this time, there is not more information about the condition of the victims.

    OSP identified the people involved in the accident as William Jacob Kelly and Ashleigh Annamay Baumgarden of Astoria, and Cole Jacob Warren of Clatskanie.

    According to OSP, the initial investigation indicated that a westbound SUV crossed over into the eastbound lane where is struck another vehicle. Columbia River Fire and Rescue, Oregon Department of Transportation, and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

    The collision took place at about 1:45 p.m. on July 30 near milepost 50.5, only a half mile from a fatal accident that occurred on July 26. The roadway was closed until about 4:45.

    According to Columbia River Fire & Rescue (CRFR), the agency was dispatched to the incident, along with Clatskanie Fire, OSP, Columbia County, Sheriff's Office, ODOT, and two LifeFlight helicopters. CRFR shared the some information on its Facebook page.

    "The incident was a major traffic collision between Heath Road and Larson Road on Columbia River Highway. Multiple victims, two victims were flown from the scene to a trauma center," CRFR posted.

    OSP confirmed in its preliminary information that it was a two vehicle crash with "serious injuries," but that a cause was to be determined.

    The highway reopened around 4:45.
