Quick & Easy One Pan Jambalaya: Shrimp & Sausage

This meal comes together quickly and is super easy to make. Shrimp, sausage, and a blend of seasoning make this one of the tastiest jambalaya recipes. Instead of spending hours in the kitchen, this will take half that time and is perfect for a busy life schedule that loves a little spice in their meals. If you're not a seafood lover, just omit the shrimp and add more smoked sausage or another cooked meat.

    Shopping List:

    • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
    • 1 (14 ounces) package of smoked sausage, cut into chunks or into slices
    • 1 small onion, sliced
    • 1 red bell pepper diced
    • 1 green bell pepper diced
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 (28-ounce) can of tomatoes chopped with juice
    • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
    • salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to taste
    • 12 large raw shrimp, cleaned with tails off
    • Note: for seafood allergies add cooked chicken, beef, or pork boneless chunks
    • 6 cups hot-cooked quick-cooking white rice cooked to package instructions and drained. (this is to save time, if you prefer regular rice, cook long grain rice to the package instructions and drain.)
    • Optional: water can be added if this gets if needed or white wine

    Directions:

    • In a large deep saucepan brown the garlic, and onion in the butter with sausage for around 3 minutes to 4 minutes.
    • Stir in the seasonings, and tomatoes, then add the shrimp and simmer for around 4 minutes or until the shrimp is a nice pink color.
    • Add the cooked rice and serve.
