This is the best kind of coffee cake on the planet and the aroma of this cake baking is just fantastic! Seriously this cake is super delicious, moist, and the easiest cake with foolproof results! I love easy recipes made with all simple pantry ingredients. IF you're a coffee cake and apple lover this is the best of both worlds in flavor and texture. The cake comes out great every time. Plus you can add additions if you like. Apple Cake can be layered with nuts, raisins, craisins, or even the addition of coconut!

    This scratch old-fashioned simple apple cake will astonish you. Great with a glass of cold milk, or hot beverages.

    Simple Apple Cake Ingredients

    Apple Batter:

    • 2 cups of tart apples ( peeled, cored, and diced) we prefer Mcintosh
    • 1 tablespoon white sugar
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 3 cups all-purpose flour
    • 3 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/2teaspoon salt
    • 2 cups white sugar
    • 1 cup vegetable oil
    • 1/4 cup orange juice
    • 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 4 large eggs

    Topping:(Before baking optional topping)

    • 1/2 cup flour
    • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons cold butter
    • Optional: 1 cup of raisins, nuts, coconut or caramel chips

    How to Make Apple Cake Directions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 10-cup bundt pan.
    2. Mix all the apple ingredients in a large bowl together until smooth.
    3. Pour half the batter into the pan and sprinkle with half the apples.
    4. Add more batter then apples on top.
    5. Optional Topping: In a small bowl blend the topping ingredients with a pastry blender or fork until it looks like lumpy sand then sprinkle on top.
    6. Note: the topping is optional, a glaze of icing or just dusting with powdered sugar can be an alternative after baking.
    7. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes in a preheated oven of 350 degrees or until the middle comes clean with a toothpick.
