Quick and Easy Slow Cooker Chili

Those days of getting a comforting meal on the table with very little time to cook especially weeknights this comfort food is the perfect meal to have ready on your tables using a slow cooker. Usually after a long day of work or just a busy lifestyle of many scheduled errands to run, we always had a pot of chili going in our slow cooker. Save this one for the busiest days!

If you would like to use an instant pot, refer to your instruction book, this is a versatile recipe that can be used on the stovetop, instant pot, and even in a Dutch oven baked. Cooking times will vary depending on the cooking method you choose.

If you prefer white beans over red or black beans, add them. There is no right or wrong to this easy slow cooker chili, however, the seasoning should be adjusted to taste. We prefer a hot chili and add a little cayenne pepper or chopped jalapenos. I left the ready-to-be easily adapted to your taste.

If you have leftover chili try making Nachos!

    Slow Cooker Chili Ingredients:

    • 2 pounds of ground beef
    • 1 package of mild chili seasoning (or use a blend of cumin, onion powder, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper around 1/2 teaspoon each)
    • 2 14-ounce cans of stewed tomatoes diced
    • 2 - 16-ounce cans of pinto beans or red kidney beans
    • 1 28-ounce can of tomato sauce
    • Optional: 1 bell or hot pepper diced

    Directions:

    1. In a medium-sized frying pan, brown the beef then drain the grease off or blot with a paper towel to remove it.
    2. Place the beef into the slow cooker with all the ingredients. Set the slow cooker on high for 4 hours.
    3. Serve with tortilla chips, sour cream, chopped jalapeno peppers, sliced olives or whatever other toppings you prefer.
    4. Note: cubed-cooked chicken can be substituted for beef or ground turkey and chicken.
