    Decadent Pecan Cookie Bars: A Luscious Layered Confection

    A rich confection layered with chocolate, oats nuts, and coconut. It is one of our favorite treats during the cooler month to satisfy a sweet tooth. The bars are full of flavor and often mistaken as cookie candy bars. These are easy to make and the ingredients can be substituted with other ingredients if there is something you're not fond of. Try adding raisins, craisins, or chocolate-covered nuts and chocolate-covered raisins for a change from the ones listed below in our recipe.

    Shopping List:

    • 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
    • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
    • 1 3/4 cup AP flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
    • 1/2 cup pecans chopped
    • 1 cup caramel-flavored chips (or toffee bits)
    • 1 cup chocolate chips
    • 1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
    • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

    Directions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and oil spray or line a 13 x9 baking pan with parchment paper and set this aside.
    2. Beat the butter and brown sugar together until smooth and creamy around 3 minutes.
    3. In a clean bowl whisk the flour, salt, and leavening agent together.
    4. Combine the two mixtures adding the oats and evenly blend.
    5. Pour the mixture into the press and using a flour glass, press it evenly down to fit the bottom of the prepared pan.
    6. Top with caramel, chocolate and coconut.
    7. Evenly drizzle the top with condensed milk.
    8. Bake at 350 degree until golden brown.
    9. Cool then cut into bars.
