Retro recipes are back in style, actually, for me they never went away.

Doctored cake mixes were always a big thing in the 1970s and when you're a busy homemaker on a tight schedule desserts this was a go-to recipe.

The cake can be served with just a dollop of whipped cream, frosted or just dusted with powdered sugar.

Banana Spice Cake Recipe:

• 1- 15.25 box of spice cake mix
• 3 eggs
• 4 tablespoons of butter, melted
• 3 ripe bananas, mashed
• 1 cup of milk

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a bundt pan.
2. Mix with an electric beater for 2 to 3 minutes until well blended.
3. Place in a greased pan (use any kind of pan you prefer we used a bundt pan).
4. Baking times will vary on the kind of pan you're using.

Pan Size Baking Times:

• This bundt pan took 45 to 50 minutes to bake at 350 degrees
• Two 8 x 1-1/2 inch round baking pans 35 to 40 minutes
• Two 9 x 1-1/2 inch round baking pans 30 to 35 minutes
• Two 8 x 8 x 2 25 to 35 minutes
• 13x 9 sheet pan 30 to 35 minutes
• FOR BEST RESULTS use the toothpick method, if the toothpick comes out clean the cake is completed baking
