Topeka man arrested for alleged drug possession in Osage County Saturday
A Topeka man was taken into custody on suspicion of drug possession in Osage County Saturday. According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, an Osage County Deputy initiated a traffic stop at 1:35 pm Saturday for an alleged traffic violation at the intersection of US Highway 56 and South Topeka Avenue. During a search of the suspect vehicle, driven by 27-year-old Aaron M. Griffith of Topeka, illegal narcotics were allegedly located.
Suspect threatened Kansas deputies with AR-style rifle
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on multiple allegations after a standoff. On July 18, a deputy with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office located a subject with an active felony standing in the driveway of a residence in the 2800 BLK SW Indian Hills Road, according to Shawnee County Sheriff' s Lt. Attempt to escape burning Shawnee home leads to pedestrian-vehicle collision
SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) - An attempt to escape a burning Shawnee home sent one woman to a nearby hospital after she was hit by a car. Walk-In Enrollment, Back to School Fair Tuesday

Barton Co. currently unable to process motor vehicle transactions
At this time, the State of Kansas is not able to process any motor vehicle transactions. Included in the outage is the Barton County Treasurer’s Office. However, the Treasurer’s Office is open for business and can process other work, including tax payments.
