Jeffersonville man charged in connection with stolen off-road vehicle in Montgomery County: Here’s where it was found

CLAY CITY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A joint investigation between the Montgomery County and Powell County Sheriff’s Office led to a suspect being charged and a stolen off-road vehicle being found on Saturday.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), a “side by side” off-road vehicle was stolen in “a theft that occurred in Montgomery County on July 24.”

According to law enforcement, 38-year-old William Beer of Jeffersonville had been arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning “for two active warrants” by the Powell County Sheriff’s Office.

In connection to the investigation into the stolen off-road vehicle, Beer was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree burglary, and theft by unlawful taking of an object worth over $10,000 but less than $1 million.

The side-by-side was found in Clay City on Saturday shortly before Beer was charged, according to law enforcement. The off-road vehicle was found in what appeared to be a shed covered by a door.

The investigation remains ongoing. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with information to contact the Montgomery County dispatch at (859) 498-8704 and speak with a deputy.
