Ayrshire Man Facing Multiple Charges After Vehicle in Ditch Report
(Spencer)--A report of a vehicle in the ditch Saturday in Clay County led to the arrest of an Ayrshire man on multiple charges. Just before 12:50 pm, the Clay County Sheriff's Office received a complaint of a vehicle in a ditch in the 3100 block of 300th St. The reporting party advised the male driver was about to get a ride from someone and stated the male was stumbling and was possibly intoxicated. Upon the arrival of a Clay County Deputy, it was found that the pickup truck had fraudulent license plates on it and there was an open container of alcohol in the driver side cup holder.

NW Iowa Officials Consider Flood Mitigation Efforts
As part of flood recovery efforts, some officials in northwest Iowa are exploring the idea of joining a Water Management Authority that oversees the Little Sioux River watershed. The Little Sioux Headwaters Coalition currently includes agencies in areas along the Iowa-Minnesota border. Clay County Supervisor Allen Batschelet says joining the coalition makes sense.
