Illinois man killed in semi crash in Crittenden County
A semi crash along US 60 in Crittenden County claimed the life of an Illinois man. Kentucky State Police said that the crash occurred at about 11 p.m. near the Rush Creek Bridge at the Marion eastern city limit. Troopers said 61-year-old Shawn G. Colman of Clay County, Illinois was driving a tractor-trailer when the truck struck a utility pole and overturned. The Crittenden County Coroner pronounced Colman dead at the scene.
ISP INVESTIGATING FATAL ATV ACCIDENT IN CLAY COUNTY
(EFFINGHAM) The investigation continues into a traffic accident that occurred at around 10:00 this past Friday night just over three miles east of Sailor Springs along Bucktown Lane just east of County Road 2175. The Illinois State Police report 12 year old Caide Weidner was thrown from a side-by-side ATV and with head injuries was transported to the Clay County Hospital in Flora and then transferred by helicopter to a St. Louis, Missouri hospital, where he passed away Sunday afternoon. The ISP was assisted on scene by Clay County Rescue personnel, the Clay City Fire Department, and the Clay County Sheriff’s Department. The funeral services for the North Clay Grade School student are pending in Louisville.
