LGBTQ+ Resource Center announces grand opening in Harrisburg
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The new LGBTQ+ Resource Center will soon be unveiled in Strawberry Square. According to Harristown Enterprises, GLO, a comprehensive community resource for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults of color, has opened a new resource center on the second floor of downtown Harrisburg’s Strawberry Square.

It’s no secret that 2024 is the year that the Penn State football team has to come through with on-field results. Why 2024 is so different than the past few seasons, is due to the expanded College Football Playoff that will be in effect for the first time this fall. The Nittany Lions have to get into the twelve-team playoff this season or the season as a whole will feel disappointing. Now, an On3 analyst has ranked James Franklin as facing the third most pressure in the Big Ten in 2024.
Sprint car race driver from central Pa. has died
Local sprint car driver Riley Emig of Abbottstown died Saturday according to several reports. Emig’s age was not immediately available and a cause of death was not revealed, although a report from The Capital Sports Report quoted unconfirmed social media reports that Emig was involved in a motorcycle accident. An article from Sowetan newspaper also suggested Emig’s possible involvement in an accident.
Road Work Set For Jackson and Concord Townships
Several local roads will be shut down later this week in Jackson and Concord Townships. In Jackson Township, Pattison Street Extension will be closed for three to four weeks beginning Wednesday. The closure will run from Autumn Wood Drive to Gate Dancer/Old Ehrman Road in Cranberry Township. Access from Hartzell Road to Pattison will also be closed.

Tracy Coyne Resigns As Saint Francis Women's Lacrosse Head Coach
LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University women's lacrosse head coach Tracy Coyne has announced that she will resign from her post to pursue another coaching opportunity. "Although I'm certainly disappointed that Tracy will no longer lead our women's lacrosse program, I cannot thank her enough for the numerous contributions and accomplishments she brought to Saint Francis during her tenure," said Saint Francis Director of Athletics James Downer. "Through dedication and skill, Tracy brought Red Flash women's lacrosse to profound heights, setting new program marks for most overall wins in a season, the most NEC victories in a season, and for the first time in Saint Francis history, led the team to consecutive postseason berths in the NEC Tournament. Coach Coyne's efforts have done much to elevate and establish our program into a perennial contender, and I'm confident that we'll only build off Tracy's success. We certainly wish Coach Coyne the best of luck in her future endeavors."
