ATLANTA — The City of Atlanta and Atlanta Urban Development (AUD) announced three new affordable housing projects, including redeveloping the West End, on Monday. According to the city, the projects combined will add nearly 350 affordable housing for Atlanta residents who are earning up to 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) in Atlanta. Each project will offer at least 20% of units affordable for those making 50% AMI and an additional 10% for people earning up to 80% AMI.

The organizer says a parade of boats next month on Lake Keowee will help promote the candidacy of Republican nominee for President Donald Trump. It’s also, says Seneca area resident Candy Bianco, a way to fly the colors and promote democracy. Bianco took part in the 2020 lake boat parade for Trump; this time, she’s taken it on herself to organize. Boaters who support Trump are invited to position their boats at the tip of South Cove for the excursion northward on the lake. The date is 11 o’clock Saturday morning, August 24, with a rain date the next day at 1:30 pm. Four years ago, the parade attracted an estimated 800 boats.
