CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WTAJ) —Until further notice, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has implemented a weight restriction on the Route 2024 bridge.

As of Wednesday, July 31, a 16-ton weight limit is in place on the Route 2024 (Ole Erie Pike) bridge spanning the David S. Ammerman Trail, which is approximately one mile east of Curwensville.

PennDOT posted this weight limit following an inspection earlier in July. Before then, PennDOT last evaluated the bridge in July 2023 and determined it to be in fair condition.

The bridge is a 98-foot structure built in 1962 and rehabilitated in 2012. On average, it sees about 742 vehicles daily.
