SIDNEY, IA - Charitable giving, 4-H enthusiasm, a cherry pie dynasty and the ugliest cake were all recognized Saturday at the Fremont County Fair in Sidney, Ia. The giving included the 4-H program fees for 86 Fremont County members and a $1,100 bid for the fair’s top cherry pie.
The 75th Annual Cass County Fair Starts Thursday
(Atlantic) This is the 75th anniversary of the Cass County Fair, which kicks off on Thursday. There will be some activity at the fair on Wednesday starting at 9:00 a.m. with the 4H/FFA Static Exhibit Judging and the Clover Kids Static Showcase. Interactive zoo says it's making changes after two animals died in separate incidents
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — On Monday, abamboo shark was euthanized after it bit and latched onto a Blue Zoo team member at the West Des Moines aquarium. "We needed to get the husbandry team member out of the water, and in doing so, then the decision was made to humanely euthanize the animal, so that way she could get taken to the hospital," said Dylan Claypool , Blue Zoo West Des Moines manager.
