Three North Iowans are among the 20 contestants who will compete on a live lottery game show at the 2024 Iowa State Fair with a chance to win up to $5 million. The Iowa Lottery says they received more than 67,000 entries into their “Fair Fever” promotion that will conclude with the game show on opening day of this year’s Iowa State Fair. Rembrandt Man Arrested Following High-Speed Chase
A Rembrandt man was arrested soon after an early-morning pursuit in Buena Vista County. According to the Storm Lake Police Department, the incident began around 5:30am today (Tues) when officers observed a suspect driving recklessly. A high-speed chase ensued with the suspect, who was identified as Julio Garcia of Rembrandt. In the interest of public safety, authorities opted to terminate the pursuit. Shortly after the pursuit was stopped, authorities received reports that Garcia had crashed near the Woodlawn Cemetery in Alta and fled the scene on foot.
