An Earth-Friendly Dog Event

Bring your pup to Enterprise Dog Park on March 14 for Wag Into Spring , a fun, earth-friendly event. Meet city staff, learn ways to reduce stormwater pollution, and grab some free swag for your fur family (children’s activity books, upcycled dog toys, eco-poop bags and more). The event is free.

The Humane Society of Pinellas will also be there to share information on their nonprofit and adoption opportunities.

Participating city of Clearwater teams include:

• Public Utilities

It’s no fun picking up dog waste or stepping in it. But what’s worse than that is swimming in it, fishing in it or drinking it.

Research shows that up to 95 percent of fecal coliform in urban stormwater comes from pet waste, which washes from the grass to lakes, ponds, creeks, bays and beaches when it rains. When pet waste gets into our waterways, harmful bacteria can make people sick and cause algae blooms that can suffocate fish and other aquatic life.
