    Village briefings for July 18

    Events:

    • Clemmons Cares Month: Join in all month long as the village shares ways to spread love throughout the community. Back by popular demand, kindness rock painting for all to hide and find around the village. Kindness rocks are just plain rocks, available to grab from a bin outside of village hall, as well as a painting station at the Saturday Clemmons Farmers Market.
    • National Night Out: This annual event will take place a few days early) at Movie Night in the Village on Aug. 2 at the Jerry Long Family YMCA. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Enjoy food trucks, yard games, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office K9, motorcycle and ATV team members, and Clemmons Community Policing officers beginning at 7 p.m. The movie will begin at sunset.

    Farmers market:

    • The 2024 Clemmons Farmers Market Season is here — Saturdays from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Jerry Long Family YMCA. It will be located in the field adjacent to Peace Haven Road and across from the pool parking lot.

    Employment:

    • The village of Clemmons currently has an opening for public works equipment operator. Find out more at clemmons.org/jobs .

    Meetings:

    • The regularly scheduled council meeting will be held on Monday, July 22, at 6 p.m. in council chambers.
    • The regularly scheduled planning board meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 6 p.m. in council chambers.

    Public works:

    • Limb pickup resumed in March. Limbs should be placed on the edge of your street by 7 a.m. on Monday morning of the following schedule between March and November. East of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Middlebrook Drive (Winston-Salem side) — second full week of the month. West of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Middlebrook Drive (Tanglewood side) — first full week of the month.
    • When available, mulch can be loaded at 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Please note mulch is only loaded at these times and not throughout the day. Mulch is not available on rainy days. All trucks and trailers must have side walls and be covered (example: with a tarp) before leaving the yard. For mulch availability, call Public Works at 336-766-9170. These services are limited to village of Clemmons residents, and you may be asked to show ID.
