Garvin Design Group, HNTB, and Thompson Turner Construction recently joined Clemson University for a topping-out event at the new Watt Family Athletic Performance & Wellness Center.

Located at the corner of Perimeter Road and Track Drive near Memorial Stadium, the new three-story Performance & Wellness Center is being constructed concurrently with the renovation of the adjacent Jervey Athletic Center, according to a news release.

The projects will provide a state-of-the-art new home for the volleyball program, as well as facilities for 450 student-athletes across campus, including:

    Strength and conditioning
    Wellness and recovery space
    Hydrotherapy and recovery pools
    Sports medicine clinic
Gatorade fuel bar and sports nutrition services
    Student-athlete bistro outdoor dining terrace

The renovation project at Jervey Athletic Center is raising the roof of Jervey Gym by more than 12 feet and modifying a section of the existing building to include a Volleyball locker room, lounge, team room and other amenities, the release stated.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Garvin Design Group offers comprehensive planning and design services for a variety of project types and sizes, according to the release. The firm of 20 people has completed more than $1 billion worth of projects since its founding in 2003.

HNTB Corp. is a 109-year-old employee-owned infrastructure solutions firm serving public and private owners and construction contractor, according to the release.
