A four-star linebacker from the Peach State visited Clemson last week and picked up an offer from the Tigers.

Mill Creek High School (Hoschton, Ga.) class of 2026 prospect Duyon (DQ) Forkpa Jr. traveled to Tiger Town on Monday, June 17, and left campus with a new offer in tow after getting the offer from defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Wes Goodwin.

“Coach Goodwin offered me halfway through the tour. We stepped onto the game field, and he told me he’d be able to see me running down the hill and onto the field and making some big plays out there,” Forkpa told The Clemson Insider.

“It meant a lot to me because Clemson doesn’t offer until junior year, and for me to be included in that list of people that they want, that says something.”

Forkpa has collected more than a dozen total offers, and Goodwin clearly believes the future is bright for the 6-foot-2, 220-pound rising junior.

“I believe coach offered because he sees my potential and my ability to make plays,” Forkpa said of Goodwin.

Not only has Forkpa impressed Goodwin and the Tigers enough to earn an offer, but Clemson impressed Forkpa during his visit as well.

“I enjoyed it because the coaches were welcoming and the campus was very nice,” he said. “What stood out to me was how much effort they put towards their academics and how Clemson has a homey environment, which makes it easier to get comfortable with the new environment you’re in and the people there.”

It doesn’t look like it will be the last trip to Clemson for Forkpa, who intends to get a taste of the Death Valley gameday environment this fall.

“I will be visiting sometime during the season to get a vibe on the gameday experience,” he said.

Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Missouri, Indiana, Kansas State and West Virginia are among the other schools that have offered Forkpa, who is ranked by Rivals as the ninth-best inside linebacker in the 2026 class.
