Clemson Football Receives Slew of Honors from National Outlet

Clemson Football racked up a slew of recognitions this week, as a national outlet named 12 Tigers to their 2024 Preseason All-ACC Teams.

Athlon Sports tabbed Clemson junior offensive lineman Blake Miller, sophomore defensive lineman Peter Woods and senior linebacker Barrett Carter as first-team selections.

Meanwhile, senior running back Phil Mafah, senior tight end Jake Briningstool, sophomore defensive lineman T.J. Parker and fifth-year safety R.J. Mickens were all selected to the second team.

Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Antonio Williams, sophomore cornerback Avieon Terrell and sophomore safety Khalil Barnes each garnered third-team nods, while fifth-year offensive lineman Walker Parks and fifth-year defensive lineman DeMonte Capehart rounded out Clemson’s selections as fourth-team honorees.

Clemson’s 12 selections rank fourth on Athlon’s 2024 Preseason All-ACC Team, behind Florida State (17), Virginia Tech (14) and Miami (13).

The Tigers will open the season in the national spotlight when they face the Georgia Bulldogs in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Aflac Kickoff Game on Saturday, Aug. 31.

The contest is scheduled to kick off at 12 p.m. and will be televised on ABC.
