Football Isn’t Only Sport This Commit Will Compete in at Clemson

Football won’t be the only sport that this Clemson pledge plays for the Tigers in the future.

Clemson class of 2025 defensive back commit Tae Harris announced Monday that he will be a multi-sport athlete and plans to run track for the Tigers as well.

“I’m blessed to announce that I will be apart of the track team starting in the spring for the tigers,” Harris wrote in a social media post. “All glory to god without him I am nothing. ”

Harris is a four-star safety and a top-100 national football prospect according to all the major recruiting services. The Cedartown (Ga.) High School standout is widely considered a top-50 talent overall and one of the five best safeties in the country.

A back-to-back region track champion with a sub-4.4 40 time, Harris has been showing off his elite speed this offseason while breaking records in the process — he recently posted a personal record of 10.60 in the 100-meter dash, and a personal record of 21.70 in the 200-meter dash, both of which are new school records.

Harris, one of 13 total pledges in Clemson football’s 2025 recruiting class, committed to Clemson on March 18 after decommitting from Georgia on Jan. 21.

As a junior on the gridiron in 2023, the 6-foot, 195-pounder tallied 44 tackles, three forced fumbles and six pass breakups while playing both ways and also posting 600-plus scrimmage yards and nine touchdowns on offense.

Harris also recently announced that he has accepted an invitation to play in the 2025 Polynesian Bowl.
