After making his first visit to Clemson this spring, a standout line prospect from the Sunshine State returned to Tiger Town this summer.

Edgewater High School (Orlando, Fla.) class of 2026 interior offensive lineman Ben Bankowitz was back on campus last month, when he had the chance to work with offensive line coach Matt Luke at the Dabo Swinney Camp.

“I camped at Clemson and I loved it,” Bankowitz told The Clemson Insider, reflecting on his camp experience. “I really like Coach Luke. He is such a great coach and a really great person, too. Coach Luke is very intense and very knowledgeable, and he spent a lot of time with me, so I learned a ton from him and all the coaches at camp.”

A 6-foot-3, 290-pound rising junior, Bankowitz has a couple of FBS offers under his belt from Cincinnati and FAU, while he is drawing interest from Clemson along with a bunch of other power conference programs.

“My recruiting process so far has been really positive and it’s going really well for me,” he said. “I’m hearing from a lot of coaches, and everyone has been very supportive and positive. I feel like South Carolina, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mizzou, FSU, UCF, Penn State and FAU have been the schools I have gotten to know the best so far. Others have contacted me as well and I am very grateful for all the schools that have reached out. It’s been a fun spring and summer!”

Prior to participating in the Swinney Camp, Bankowitz made an unofficial visit to Clemson in mid-April, marking his first time on campus.

“My time at Clemson has been enjoyable for sure,” he said. “The campus is very nice, and the facilities are top notch. It’s really impressive all around. The people are so friendly, and I always enjoy my time in Clemson and being on campus.”

Now, after coming away very impressed by his two trips to Tiger Town, Bankowitz is looking to get back again during the upcoming season and get a different experience – taking in a game at Death Valley.

“I’ve been invited to visit a number of colleges for games this fall and I’m really looking forward to that,” he said. “I will make it to as many games as I can, and Clemson is definitely one of the places I plan to visit and look forward to experiencing the gameday atmosphere.”
