Nicholas Gordon has been attending Dabo Swinney’s high school camp since he was a youngster.

The 2027 in-state wideout (Cheraw) continues to come back due to the knowledge he picks up from the coaches on hand each summer.

Gordon was so good this year, that wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham allowed him to move over and work out with the older prospects on hand.

“It was a very, very good experience,” Gordon told The Clemson Insider. “I was in a group, and I was out dominating. So I asked coach Grisham, can I come in with his group so I can get the competition with the older kids.”

And working out with the more experienced players proved to be beneficial.

“It really benefited me in my stance and my release,” Gordon said. “It helped me with breaking down and making sharp turns and cuts and really pointing the ball and tucking it in better.”

While out there, Gordon more than held his own and Grisham took notice.

“They were really giving me positive feedback,” Gordon said. “Saying I was doing good things.”

Growing up in the state of South Carolina, Gordon has been a longtime Clemson fan and getting an up close taste of the culture inside the program gives the young wideout an even better appreciation for what Swinney has built.

“The work ethic, the running of the program,” Gordon added. “Just the coaching staff, the atmosphere and everything. It’s just there.”

With Gordon yet to even start his sophomore year of high school, his recruitment has yet to really get started. When it does though, an offer from Clemson is something he is looking to earn.

“It would mean a lot,” Gordon said. “It would be one of my top schools that I’m looking to come to.”
