Clemson had one of its commits participate in last weekend’s Rivals 5-Star Challenge, with the blue-chip talent turning in an impressive performance.

Consensus 4-star Gideon Davidson turned heads during the event, and according to national recruiting analyst John Garcia, he was one of the better running backs in attendance.

“Officially, there was one Clemson commitment on hand for the event – and Gideon Davidson was among the better all-around backs in attendance, displaying his smooth footwork in drills and holding his own thereafter,” Garcia said. “One of the most productive prospects in America and the top-ranked prospect in Virginia, Davidson also has a college-ready frame so it may not take long to see him make an impact for Dabo Swinney and company.”

Davidson committed to Clemson last summer and is one of the cornerstones of the Tigers’ 2025 recruiting class. The rising high school senior rushed for more than 2,700 yards and 43 touchdowns. He averaged close to 13 yards per carry in helping lead LCA to a state title, with more than 300 of those yards came in that final game.

Davidson is the only running back that Clemson plans to sign in 2025 and he ranks as high as No. 56 overall, with multiple services ranking him as the third-best back in the class and the top player in the state of Virginia.
