Clemson remains one of the best college football programs in the country, but are they still the top dog in the future for the ACC?

Recently on his Sunday edition episode of Late Kick Live, college football analyst Josh Pate ranked the Top 15 college football programs over the next three years. Clemson made the cut, ranking at a modest No. 14 and it’s not a bad ranking by any means. According to Pate, Clemson was his toughest ranking.

One, I put Clemson as the number 14 program in college football over the the next three years are the toughest program for me because I have an insane amounts of respect for the culture there; I don’t want to just gloss over that. Clemson has a unique culture compared to any other program in college football. They’ve done it a certain way, unlike most other programs in college football. The same guy’s been there.

Dabo’s been there the entire time high level coach coaching staff there love some of the moves they just made this past summer and past spring to get guys on campus they are a 10 to 15-caliber recruiter that’s where their recruiting classes have been Landing in the 10 to 15 range when you’re in that range and you voluntarily neglect the transfer portal it is tough for me to put you as a program projecting you over the next three years above programs that take advantage of all the mechanisms at their disposal when it’s this bunched and the 5 to 15 range over the next three years to me is very bunched it’s very clogged up and everyone else is taking advantage of the portal and you’re choosing not to. That’s how you land at 14 they got a bunch of big games this season.

They got a early hinge game against Georgia, Florida State NC State, so we’ll know a lot about this particular placement of Clemson over the next three years. Just in the first month and a half of this season, Clemson is at number 14 that
    It was a tough one.

Clemson has the potential to be higher on this list but also the potential to be lower. They’re truly a unique situation because it is tough to tell where Clemson will be a year from now, let alone three.

The interesting piece here is that Clemson was the No. 3 ranked team in the ACC. Florida State was incredibly high at No. 6, which I personally disagree with, and Miami ranked No. 13. Is Clemson no longer the top dog in the ACC in the foreseeable future? I still believe they are, but the Tigers aren’t necessarily trending in the right direction.
The 2024 season will be a huge one for Swinney and the Tigers.
