Cade Klubnik experienced some growing pains during his first season as starting quarterback at Clemson.

While the young quarterback did progress as the season went along, capping the season off with a game-winning drive against Kentucky in the Gator Bowl, the rising junior still has marked room for improvement.

Klubnik completed 64-percent of his passes for 2,844 yards with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions, while averaging a 6.2 yards per attempt a season ago, and expectations are for the signal caller to take that next step.

Bleacher Report’s David Kenyon recently tabbed Klubnik as one of college football’s quarterbacks with the most to prove, labeling him a “bounce-back hopeful.”

“Klubnik is an immensely talented, mobile quarterback and looks fantastic in his best moments,” Kenyon wrote. “Clemson needs them to happen more consistently, though.”

“Clemson expects to contend for national titles. And that pressure falls on Klubnik.”

More consistency. That’s what the Tigers need out of their quarterback in 2024. Pocket presence, pre and post-snap reads, as well as decision making are just some of the areas Klubnik needs to show improvement. Not to mention limiting the turnovers, particularly the game-changing turnovers.
