Clemson baseball, led by Erik Bakich, has added a new transfer to the team. Luke Kissenberth, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed pitcher from The Citadel, announced his commitment via social media on Thursday.

Kissenberth entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer in early June and spent four years at The Citadel. He played three seasons, having redshirted in 2021. In the 2024 season, he appeared in 26 games, starting once, and recorded an 0-2 record with a 5.97 ERA. He struck out 48 batters, walked 28, allowed 25 hits, and held opponents to a .194 batting average over 37.2 innings.

Before the 2024 season, Kissenberth had only pitched 3.2 innings across five games in the previous two seasons. A native of Simpsonville, S.C., he attended Southside Christian High School, where he earned second-team all-region honors as a junior. He struck out 17 over nine innings in his shortened senior season and threw a five-inning no-hitter while hitting .416.

Kissenberth comes from an athletic family. His father was a linebacker at The Citadel, his mother played softball at Anderson University, and his brother played football at Presbyterian.
