Real college football games are just around the corner. The video game is finally back. 2025 recruiting classes are starting to truly take shape. There's so much going on in the world of college football right now, but there are still several top tier recruits who have commitment announcements coming in the next few weeks that could change the future landscape of the game!

One of the most important upcoming commitment announcements will be from massive 6'3", 245-pound defensive line recruit, Bryce Davis. He's snagged almost 30 FBS offers, but he's finally narrowed things down to just four programs. Davis will be making his choice this Saturday. What makes him so special and where will he actually commit? Let's dive in.

Bryce Davis, 4 Star Defensive Lineman

Not many 250-pound juniors in high school have the size, speed, and technique to win from anywhere on the defensive line but Bryce Davis does. He's a big bodied defensive destroyer who can stuff the run up the middle, but then immediately afterwards speed rush off the edge with surprising ferocity.

Davis tallied nearly 100 tackles and a dozen sacks as a sophomore. Had he stayed healthy last fall for his junior season there's a great chance he would be considered a five star talent now, but missed the vast majority of the 2023 season. He should be back and ready to go for 2024, so be watching for another quick rise up recruiting boards once he's dominating on the field again.

Where will he actually go to school?

Bryce Davis has narrowed his search down to Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina, and Duke ahead of his Saturday, July 20th commitment date. All four schools have decent and recent track records of sending edge and defensive line prospects to the NFL Draft. However, Clemson and Georgia are the heavy favorites as they boast the best overall programs and proven development.

Most experts I talk to still believe that Clemson is in the lead heading into the final push for Davis, but there's one snag that may end up sending him to Georgia and head coach Kirby Smart. Clemson's top three recruits for 2025 are all edge and defensive line prospects. If he joins them he'll be the the fourth Top 100 defensive front recruit in the group. That's quite a bit of competition up front to climb through just to get on the field in addition to some young players up front there already.

Georgia also has a couple high pedigree edge rushers in the 2025 class, but they're almost assuredly locked in at edge-only for the most part. Bryce Davis could surprisingly find a role a bit faster moving inside for the Bulldogs. Both defensive fronts are stacked, but Davis might like the improved chances for both a national championship and earlier playing time depending on where chooses to line up in college.
