When a top four star recruit has over 30 scholarship offers and their final four teams are Georgia, LSU, Auburn, and Clemson you know that they're a truly special kind of talent. That's where four star safety recruit Anquon Fegans rests right now about a week away from his official commitment.

Now that many of the top four and five stars have already committed Fegans is one of the most important players remaining on the board for top schools. He boasts prototype size coming out of high school at 6'1", 190 pounds. Fegans is set to make his announcement next week! But what makes him so special and where will he actually commit? Let's just see.

    Anquon Fegans, 4 Star Safety

Anquon Fegans is one of the most incredible ball hawk safeties in the nation. He tallied double digit passes defended in back to back seasons for 2022 and 2023. And Fegans has been starting varsity since he was just a freshman on one of the best high school football teams in the state of Alabama. In fact, here he is snagging an interception for them in the State Title Game last season for Thompson (in Alabaster, AL).

Fegans also grabbed two interceptions in the same OT7 Championship game this spring, showing he can be dominant in space, even when the 7-on-7 game is largely stacked against the defense. Wherever he lands, his future college football team is getting a talented athlete who knows how to read quarterbacks and turn the ball over.

    Anquon Fegans Likely Landing Spots

Where will he actually go to school?

Anquon Fegans has not been shy about his Georgia and Auburn interest for months now, visiting with them both a half dozen times. However, his final official visit this summer came with LSU as they were reportedly a late riser in his recruitment process. And Clemson is also still in it as they were a bit of a surprise official visit with him this summer.

According to some experts (like Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons of On3) he's already leaning Auburn, his in-state school of choice. After the Auburn Tigers sent a pair of defensive backs on to be drafted that certainly didn't hurt his chances in choosing them. That may happen, but he didn't even log a true full "official" with the Auburn Tigers this summer.  So, what gives? Where will he actually land?

Signs this summer have been pointing towards Georgia or LSU for Fegans and there's not much debate as to why. Georgia consistently has some of the best safeties in the country and the Bulldogs will need a replacement next year after Malaki Starks departs for the NFL Draft.

LSU also has excellent opportunities for early playing time and a long track record of sending defensive backs to the NFL. They made a strong push this summer, and his visit with them apparently went extraordinary.

Clemson could pull it off too, but they've been trending in the wrong direction with their NIL and freshman recruiting for some time now outside of a couple key positions. In the end it's still possible he goes with Auburn, but this commitment is a hard read.
