Erik Bakich and the Clemson baseball program have scored another big transfer pledge.

TCI has confirmed that the Tigers have landed a commitment from Seton Hall transfer pitcher Michael Gillen.

A sophomore righthander, Gillen posted a 1.51 ERA across his two seasons with the Pirates. In 65.2 innings pitched across 37 appearances, Gillen had a 5-1 record, four saves and 70 strikeouts. He walked only 19 batters and held opponents to a .225 batting average.

The 6-foot-3 New Jersey native earned All-BIG EAST first-team honors in 2024, when he recorded the fourth-lowest ERA in the BIG EAST min. 15 appearances (2.31 ERA) and the second-lowest ERA in BIG EAST games min. five appearances (1.25 ERA).

Prior to arriving at Seton Hall, Gillen attended Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J., where he was a four-year letter winner. A first-team All-Big North conference selection and second-team All-Bergen County selection as a senior, he logged a 1.90 ERA in 51 innings pitched with 76 strikeouts as a senior.

Gillen becomes the second transfer pitcher to commit to Clemson in recent days, joining The Citadel grad transfer Luke Kissenberth .
