CLEMSON — Clemson has a new member on its coaching staff.

The Clemson Insider has learned from multiple sources that former Clemson wide receiver Will Swinney has joined his father’s staff. We were told Swinney is joining as an unpaid offensive intern. It is considered a volunteer role.

Swinney joins his younger brother, Drew Swinney, who joined his father’s staff last year.

Will Swinney played for his father, Dabo Swinney, from 2017-’21. The former walk-on finished his Clemson career with 35 catches for 195 yards and had one career touchdown.

The former receiver spent the last two years as a color analyst on the Clemson Sports Network. Swinney was a part of Clemson’s 2018 National Championship Team that went 15-0, the first team to do so in the modern era of college football.

When he decided to play for Clemson in 2017, Swinney became the first son of a Clemson football head coach to play for the Tigers since Jimmy Howard played for his dad, Frank Howard, in 1963.

Swinney earned his degree from Clemson in marketing in 2021 and added his MBA in August of 2022. He was a five-time ACC Honor Roll selection.
