CHARLOTTE — Clemson’s wide receiver corps is young, healthy, and hungry ahead of the 2024 season.

Injuries plagued the Tigers last year, limiting or eliminating six wide receivers throughout the season, including veteran Antonio Williams and former five-star recruit Adam Randall. However, quarterback Cade Klubnik believes “the sky’s the limit” for the wide receivers this year.

Klubnik met with the media at the ACC Media Kickoff Thursday in Charlotte, as he detailed his goals for Clemson’s offense and what he sees in his group of receivers.

He shared that Antonio Williams is at his healthiest ahead of fall camp.

“He’s the fastest he’s ever been, I promise you that,” Klubnik said. “I mean him running a slant route now versus two years ago or even last year it’s a whole different person. I’m super excited for him. He is just so locked in it’s incredible.”

Clemson also boasts the addition of respective four and five star freshman receivers Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore. Wesco arrived in Clemson in January and made a splash in the spring, as he made several big-time catches, including one in the spring game.

“They are both really really good football players, and then we got [tight end] Christian [Bencantur] who just came in a couple weeks ago,” Klubnik said. “He’s looking really good… we’ve got a really really good tight end [in Jake Briningstool] and receiving corps so it’s going to be fun.”

Bencantur joins Brinningstool, an All-ACC candidate, and contributors Josh Sapp and Olsen Patt-Henry in the tight ends room.

Above all, Klubnik is grateful for the depth of his offense, as the Tigers will face some tough competition this year.

“It’s going to be a long season,” Klubnik said. “We’re going to be playing 16 to 17 games this year and we’re going to have some dudes to hop in there if somebody’s ever got to come out.”

Clemson has its first chance to showcase its offensive depth on Aug. 31 when the Tigers venture to Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium to take on the Georgia Bulldogs.
