CLEMSON, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The heat advisory and the rain didn’t stop die-hard Panthers fans from enjoying Fan Fest a couple of hours away from the Queen City.

As soon as the rain let up, they rushed the gates to see quarterback Bryce Young and his new offensive weapons on the campus of Clemson University.

This season fans made the trek down Interstate 85, to kick off the Carolina Panthers’ 30th season.

Home games during the team’s inaugural season in 1995 were played at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium while Bank of America Stadium was being built. The Panthers won seven of their last 11 games that year to finish 7-9. They posted a 5-3 record in Clemson.

Then they rolled that momentum into the first year at their official home in Charlotte, where they went 12-4 in 1996 and won a playoff game over the defending Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys.

Fans hope they take that same magic and momentum into this season.

After Thursday’s event, the Panthers will return to their uptown practice facility for the remainder of training camp.
