One dead after trailer fire in Kanawha County

CLENDENIN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A trailer fire in the Clendenin area of Kanawha has claimed the life of one resident according to reports.

The Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department has indicated that, on Thursday, July 25, 2024, a structure fire was reported in the Jordan Creek Road area.

Engine 1 with the CVFD arrived at the scene to discover a single-wide trailer fully involved in a blaze which had extended to a neighboring residence.

Tower Ladder 1 and Engine 12 arrived to provide support, with the Engine 1 crew having stretched a hose line and begun a search for a victim reportedly trapped inside.

Responders on-scene were eventually successful in locating the entrapped victim. However, the victim had succumbed to injuries in relation to the fire prior to being discovered.

Pinch Volunteer Fire Department provided assistance in combating the fire. The blaze was eventually brought under control after two hours of effort.

An investigation of the trailer fire incident was turned over to the West Virginia State Fire Marshal .
