CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) – The Cleveland Heights Police Department is still investigating a crime spree involving a stolen luxury vehicle last weekend.

New video was released to Fox 8 Friday, showing multiple incidents allegedly caused by up to four suspects inside the stolen vehicle.

One man narrowly escaped with his life.

“They tried to kill me,” 30-year-old Bruce Eddings said while being interviewed by police last Saturday after he lost control of his white SUV, crashing into another driver in a Ford Explorer and then finally a tree.

“Black Jag,” he said. “Black Jag.”

“Who’s behind the wheel of that black Jag?” an officer asked.

    “I don’t know,” Eddings said.

The black Jaguar SUV pulled behind Eddings while on 152nd Street and St. Clair Avenue. Eddings claims the occupants of the Jaguar started shooting at him, blowing out his rear tire. He tried his best to evade the shooters, but they followed him.

Eddings lost control of his vehicle due to the gunfire, crashing into a tree. That’s when the shooters returned.

“They followed me all the way through,” Eddings said to police. “They bust a U-turn. What’s this Taylor right there? They bust a U-turn and they came back, hanging out [the top] and got to dumping again. I jumped out that back window.”

The police report states four people were in the black luxury SUV, a stolen vehicle from Westlake. The suspects managed to flee the scene of the crash and shooting.

The next day Cleveland Heights police located the stolen vehicle at 11:30 a.m. and attempted to stop the driver on North Taylor Road. The vehicle fled, leading police on a high-speed pursuit into East Cleveland and Cleveland.

One of the pursuing units was then struck at an intersection.

“Oh, oh,” the office groaned. “5-9 radio I just had someone run a red light and hit me.”

A 69-year-old male driver of a Jeep Patriot crashed into the officer. Both vehicles sustained major damage and airbags were deployed.

The driver of the Jeep was taken to University Hospital for medical evaluation, with apparent back and neck injuries.

The officer sustained visible facial injuries but did not go to the hospital.

Later that same day at 8:41 p.m., the stolen Jaguar was located unoccupied on East 101st Street. As of Monday, no arrests have been made and CHPD is still investigating.
