Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker issues disaster declaration for Henry County
HENRY COUNTY, Ill. — Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has issued a disaster proclamation for several counties impacted by severe weather in July, including Henry County. Back on July 16, a derecho moved through the region and produced multiple tornadoes. The National Weather Service confirmed two EF-1 tornadoes in Kewanee. Trees and debris were thrown all over, littering yards and roadways. News 8 received reports of trees falling on houses and branches flying through windows.
Rock Island man arrested for Walmart incident that injured Davenport officer
After a Davenport Police officer was injured earlier this year in a shoplifting incident at Walmart, a 25-year-old Rock Island man is in custody, court records show. Nekhyran Collins faces felony charges of second-degree theft, eluding – speed more than 25 mph over the limit, and a serious misdemeanor charge of interference with official acts – bodily injury, according to court records.
