Police: Woman rammed Morganton patrol car, led officers on chase
MORGANTON, N.C. (WBTV) - A Lexington woman is in jail after ramming a patrol car, damaging a citizen’s car and leading officers on a short chase Saturday night. According to the Morganton Department of Public Safety, officers were called to Toner’s Pub in downtown Morganton around 11:30 p.m. to investigate a hit and run involving property damage.

BOONE, N.C. - A little-known marine animal that spends much of its time under rocks is getting a helping hand from conservationists in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The hellbender is a large, aquatic salamander that favors clean, cool water, but its population has been in significant decline since the 1970s.
Local HBCU gets $8 million donation from an anonymous donor
A historically Black college in North Carolina recently received another large donation from an anonymous donor this week. Anthony Davis, president of Livingstone College, announced today that the college received an $8 million donation from its anonymous donor. Kaela Moore, owner of Treasured Brides, has closed her Charlotte bridal shop in exchange for reaching customers in a new format: a traveling shopping experience. Moore’s new semi-private dress event brings her shop to life “without the overhead,” she told QCity Metro.
